HB McClure is offering an exciting Summer Internship Opportunity for students interested in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC controls. This hands-on program will provide valuable field experience with commercial HVAC, electrical systems, and controls installation while working alongside industry experts. Interns will develop their technical skills through on-the-job training, mentorship, and real-world projects.
Our internship placements are full-time, paid positions, designed to help students gain working experience in conjunction with educational studies. The Summer Program will run from June thru August with weekly scheduled hours determined by our business needs. **Candidates must be residents of PA or MD to be eligible for consideration.
What Youll Do:
- Assist with the installation of BAS control wiring and network communication wiring.
- Work with building automation hardware, including sensors, panels, and thermostats.
- Read and interpret construction blueprints, wiring diagrams, and controls drawings.
- Support the assembly of control panels and conduit installation.
- Collaborate with field technicians and project managers on commercial job sites.
- Learn fundamental HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems in a commercial setting.
Internship Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled in a technical school, trade program, or engineering program (Construction Management, HVAC, Electrical, or BAS Engineering preferred).
- Must be a PA or MD resident
- Must be in good academic standing and provide 2 professional recommendations
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a construction environment.
- Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems is a plus.
- Must be comfortable working from heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background and drug test screenings
