Hazardous Waste Lead at AMES Research Center
Requirements:
- Manage HW facilities, including Large Quantity Generator
- Use Government- provided database to maintain waste management/disposal records:
o Execute waste characterizations and waste profile documentation
o Waste sampling requests
o Document findings
- Maintain all records:
o Analytical results
o Waste profiles
o Land disposal restriction forms
o Container issue log
o Satellite accumulation areas
o Universal waste log
o Inspection records
- Review return manifests and send error or exception reports
- Prepare annual Hazardous Waste Report
- Prepare and provide California Department of Toxic Substances Control Questionnaire
- Maintain PCB inventory and prepare annual document log
- Prepare annual pesticide usage report
- Prepare asbestos usage report, annual activity reports, and waste characterization documentation
- Prepare Hazardous Waste Generator Activity Report
- Prepare Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans
- Prepare Hazardous Waste Source Reduction and Management Review Act reporting elements
- Document annual waste minimization efforts
- Develop spill response plan
- Develop waste management procedural guidelines
- Submit annual finding trend report from Hazardous Waste inspections
- Maintain list of 90-day hazardous waste storage sites
- Develop sampling plan and conduct sampling activities
- Conduct hazardous waste inspections
- Perform waste handling activities:
o Provide waste containers
o Arrange for pickup of waste
o Transport waste from satellite accumulation areas to centralized accumulation area
o Perform waste sampling
o Packaging, bulking, lab packing, consolidating waste for disposal
o Prepare waste manifests
o Arrance for offsite disposal of waste
o Provide guidance for proper labeling, storage, and management of hazardous waste
o Provide consultation and assistance to identify waste issues
Qualifications:
- BS Science in environmental or science/engineering w/ 4 college level chemistry classes
- 8 years’ experience in HW experience, including local & state regulatory requirements
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certificate
- DOT HM Certification
Pay: $48.00 - $52.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Work Location: In person
