HazTek is hiring an experienced Safety Manager in Ridgefield, NJ to support a construction project at a former hazardous materials (hazmat) site. This role requires a strong background in site safety, OSHA compliance, and experience working in high-risk environments including excavation and hazardous conditions.

HazTek is hiring an experienced Safety Manager in Ridgefield, NJ to support a construction project at a former hazardous materials (hazmat) site. This role requires a strong background in site safety, OSHA compliance, and experience working in high-risk environments including excavation and hazardous conditions.
- Oversee all aspects of a construction project, ensuring OSHA compliance
- Conduct daily safety meetings and site orientations
- Perform daily safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments
- Monitor excavation activities and enforce safe work practices
- Support LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and fall protection compliance
- Ensure proper PPE usage across all personnel on site
- Assist with incident investigations and reporting
- OSHA 30
- HAZWOPER 40 Certification required
- Experience working on hazmat or environmentally sensitive sites
- Strong knowledge of excavation safety standards
- Familiarity with LOTO and fall protection practices
- Air monitoring experience (preferred, not required)
- Ability to recognize hazards and enforce corrective actions in real time
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills
