What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager- Water Engineer position at Hazen and Sawyer?
Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Water Engineer with 10-15 years of experience to join our Detroit, MI office. Candidate should have significant drinking water facility planning and design experience. Involvement with wastewater and stormwater projects is also a plus. Candidate should also have experience managing projects.
This position includes leading and delivering municipal water facilities planning and design projects. Task responsibilities will include project management, preparation of assessment and design reports, performing design calculations, equipment sizing/ selection, preparation of construction documents, support construction management/ commissioning needs, etc. Field work and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel. Will consider other Midwest locations besides Detroit.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. A Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in water treatment facility planning and design.
- Candidate must have the ability to obtain a P.E. licensed in Michigan within six months of employment.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with project participants towards the common goal of successful project completion.
