Role Description Teachers K–12 at Hazelwood School District provide classroom instruction aligned with district curriculum and state standards, using effective teaching strategies to support diverse learners. In this full-time, on-site role located in Florissant, MO, teachers plan and deliver daily lessons, assess student progress, and adjust instruction based on data and individual needs. Responsibilities include maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment, collaborating with colleagues and support staff, communicating regularly with families, and participating in professional development. Teachers also implement behavior and classroom management practices, integrate technology where appropriate, and contribute to school-wide initiatives that support student growth and achievement.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Education skills, with experience instructing students across K–12 grade levels or relevant grade bands.
• Candidates should possess effective Lesson Planning and curriculum implementation skills, including the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
• Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with colleagues, engage families, and support students respectfully.
• Candidates should possess Training and classroom facilitation skills, with the ability to guide students through new concepts and learning activities.
• Valid Missouri teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) in appropriate grade level and subject area.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a related field; advanced degrees are beneficial.
• Experience working in diverse school communities and commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
• Ability to use educational technology, manage a structured classroom environment, and comply with district policies and state regulations.
