REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and/or the Director of Human Resources.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Technician provides a broad range of complex, confidential, administrative, and technical support to the Human Resources Department. This position is responsible for coordinating assigned projects and department activities, communicating information regarding Human Resources functions, policies, and procedures, and ensuring the efficient operation of departmental processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides support to the Human Resources Specialist, district staff, and applicants; handles requests by email, phone, or in person; answers questions regarding Power School’s Recruit and Hire, Perform, and Records platforms.

Collaborates with Human Resources leadership on electronic employee evaluation systems to communicate information, provide support, and ensure adherence to District policies and guidelines.

Processes verification of employment requests to complete commercial, district, and federal loan forgiveness program requests (e.g. public loan service forgiveness, TEACH grant, teacher loan forgiveness, and district disclosures) in accordance with state and legal guidelines.

Create district employment postings during the certified transfer period; manage district transfer list of all eligible postings and ensure that postings are available per Teacher Articles of Agreement; monitor and reiterate transfer period procedures to administrative and district faculty.

Maintain the job description database including new job descriptions, updating existing job descriptions, and ensure processes for new and revised proposals are followed.

Presents information on technical procedures directly related to the Power School platform to the Human Resources Department for training purposes.

Supports the recruitment of administrative positions (e.g. schedule virtual interviews via Sparkhire; and communicate interview, posting updates, and recruitment process changes) to inform candidates of district requirements.

Posts, manages, and maintains a list of current vendors and expenditures to external posting sites (e.g. MoReap, really, etc.) for approved advertisement of positions.

Serves as a point of contact for third party vendor employees to ensure resources, email access, and district identification are properly assigned.

Processes district badge requests.

Compiles data from a variety of sources to prepare reports, make recommendations, and/or prepare information at administrators request.

Coordinates events and/or functions per administrators request.

Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops, and/or trainings to provide or receive information, and support the needs of the attendees.

Marginal Functions
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including using job related software applications, preparing and maintaining accurate records; and planning and managing projects.


KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: accounting/bookkeeping principles; business telephone etiquette; common office machines; concepts of grammar and punctuation; and office methods and practices.


ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather and/or collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working as part of a team; and working with frequent interruptions.

Work Environment


The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 90% sitting, 5% walking, and 5% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Experience/Education

Minimum education: Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in a job-related area.

In lieu of a degree, a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative or human resources experience may be substituted.
