Description
Certified Nursing Assistants are called RESIDENT CARE ASSISTANTS (RCAs) at Hazel Findlay. RCAs provide care and services to short-stay patients, here for rehabilitation and return to home or other setting and / or long-stay residents, living here for 100 or more days.
As an RCA with a certificate in good standing, you will provide care in accordance to the nurse directives, physician orders, nursing standards and Hazel Findlay's protocols.
You'll be supported in your work with the supplies you need, education and feedback, the tools you need to be successful - INCLUDING 5-star staffing.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS include :
- Successful completion of a Certified Nurse Aide Training Course and eligible to work while waiting to test.
- Either successful completion of competency testing or eligible for competency testing.
- Caring person, demonstrating trust worthiness, courtesy and respect for residents, visitors and work family.
- Possess physical and mental well-being with ability to perform the assigned duties without physical restrictions or limitations.
- Good communication skills to communicate resident status to other shifts and disciplines.
- Ability to complete orientation without absences or tardies; ability to arrive at work at scheduled times; ability to work within guidelines of attendance protocol.
- Ability to complete person centered care and duties in accordance with the resident's plan of care, physician and / or nurse directive and facility protocols.
- As a health care provider, there will be times when staff must stay to provide care. Typically your shift will be "starred" or you will have some other notice - this is required in health care for continuity of patient care.
- Ability to work cooperatively with different disciplines.
- Dress code - uniform with no sweatshirts, no t-shirts; may wear "scrubs" tops and bottoms of color of choice; hair pulled back if below shoulder length; face mask and other protective equipment as required by CMS, local health department or company based on infection rates.
- Provide privacy and security of Resident health information in accordance with HIPAA including no use of social or electronic media to share HIPAA information; no cell phones in patient / resident care areas.
