Job Summary:

The Clinic Operations Manager oversees and coordinates the delivery of patient care and the operations of rural and specialty clinics. This role involves coordinating clinical staff, ensuring their performance, safety, and security, while also serving as a key resource for both staff and providers. Additionally, they play a pivotal role in developing policies, procedures, and patient care standards to ensure compliance with hospital services and regulatory agency standards. They are also tasked with creating staffing schedules and approving necessary changes within labor standard guidelines. Moreover, the Manager is responsible for conducting data reviews, monitoring productivity, ensuring accuracy of charge entries in documentation, and evaluating patient flow to drive performance improvement.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drives the development and implementation of operational strategies in accordance with the Corporate and Hospital Strategic Plan.
  • Collaborates closely with the Vice President of Clinic, Ambulatory, & Physician Services to assess, plan, and direct operational programs for optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborating closely with the Vice President of Clinic, Ambulatory, & Physician Services, the Clinic Operations Manager spearheads the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing clinic operations, streamlining workflows, and elevating patient satisfaction. This involves monitoring activity levels, personnel coverage, patient status, and progress, while also assessing and evaluating staffing patterns and work schedules to ensure optimal personnel utilization aligned with the unit of service. By identifying opportunities for enhancing operational efficiency and improving patient throughput, the manager leads the process of implementing improvements and optimizing workflow to achieve these objectives.
  • Establishes and maintains clear communication channels with staff, facilitating effective problem resolution and ensuring transparency through documentation and structured meetings.
  • Establishes policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborates closely with leaders of the quality, risk, and human resources department to conduct thorough investigations into patient or associate incidents and concerns. Ensures documentation of findings and swift implementation of corrective actions. Keep Vice President, Clinic, Ambulatory, & Physician Services informed of significant events, problems, and the steps taken to address them, providing detailed reports as necessary.
  • Contributes to maintaining safety and security across the facility for patients, personnel, and the public by ensuring compliance with hospital life-safety, quality, and risk management policies. This includes identifying, reporting, and initiating correction of potential harmful conditions or behaviors. Interprets and enforces hospital and departmental policies and procedures, for staff, providers, visitors, and patients.
  • Acts as a valuable resource for clinic personnel, identifying opportunities for professional growth and skill development. Engages in collaborative planning and implementation of initiatives to enhance patient care. Encourages and support staff with educational opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
  • Collaborates with the Vice President of Clinic, Ambulatory, & Physician Services in developing, justifying, and maintaining the fiscal budget for the clinics ensuring prudent allocation of resources and diligent oversight of expenditures to meet financial goals and accountability measures to track budgetary performance.
  • Participates in hospital projects and committees, contributing valuable insights and expertise to support organizational initiatives and strategic endeavors.
  • Coordinates seamlessly with other departments to integrate services effectively, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
  • Fosters a positive work environment that promotes employee satisfaction and retention, motivating and empowering staff to excel in their roles and fulfill position-specific requirements.
  • Drives quality performance programs for clinics, ensuring maximum compliance with established insurance-related metrics and championing a culture of continuous improvement.
  • All other duties as assigned within scope of practice.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ensures compliance with Regulatory Standards including by not limited to hospital and department specific policies and procedures, fire, safety, infection control, OSHA, Federal, state, Title 22 and The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Promotes and adheres to established SBHC Core Values & Standards of Behavior communicating and representing the organizations Mission, Values, and Vision in a positive and professional manner in the department and community.
  • Adherence to all organization policies encompassing ethical business practices, standards of behavior, harassment, attendance, and safety. Demonstrates competence in fulling duties and responsibilities aligned with the San Benito Health Care Districts Corporate Compliance Program.


Education and Experience:

  • Current LVN License to practice in California.
  • Current BLS Certification by American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • 5 years’ outpatient clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of clinic operations preferred.
  • Previous staff scheduling experience.
  • Currently knowledge of budget and productivity standards.
  • Ability to plan, organize, work independently, and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to use technology to review statistics, collect data, and interpret significant findings.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish speaking and writing preferred but not required.


Job Type: Full-time, Variable Shifts

Pay: 140K-190K/annually
