What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Manager - BHU - FT - Days position at Haywood Regional Medical Center?
Ensures unit nurses provide quality patient care and complete required documentation according to hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Audits work performed by nurses, provides positive and corrective feedback to staff as indicated, and reports findings to the BHU Director.
Coordinates with team members to ensure BHU provides patients with a safe and supportive environment consistent with recovery concepts and person-centered treatment.
Leads the nursing team in Performance Improvement activities and facilitates active participation of staff. Accepts responsibility for updating and increasing skills and knowledge through training and continuing education.
Assists with the unit's schedule related to the nursing team.
Promotes a harmonious working environment by communicating clearly and working cheerfully and cooperatively with co-workers, other hospital employees, supervisors, patients, family members, physicians, and the general public.
Leads intake services for the BHU when present on the unit.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other related Human Services field
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience providing care in mental health and/or substance abuse field required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of Recovery and Wellness Philosophy preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
