Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Outpatient Therapist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling and experience working with diverse populations, including children. As a Behavioral Therapist, you will provide therapeutic support, conduct assessments, and develop treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client. Your role will be crucial in promoting mental wellness and facilitating positive behavioral changes. A NC License in a behavioral health discipline is required (LCMHC, LSCW, LMFT, LPA, ect). Will consider an associate level.
Duties
- Conduct individual and intake sessions utilizing various therapeutic evidenced based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Play Therapy and Mindfulness
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment planning.
- Implement behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support clients in distress (no on-call responsibility)
- Collaborate with families to provide child and family counseling, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage in case management activities, including coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in their recovery journey.
- Provide telehealth services as needed, ensuring accessibility for all clients.
- Participate in clinical research and data collection to contribute to the advancement of behavioral health practices.
- Stay informed about ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10) for accurate billing and documentation purposes.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Valid licensure as a Behavioral Health Therapist. A NC License is required!!!
- Experience working with children
- Familiarity with crisis management, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and PTSD care is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
