What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Engagement Manager position at Haywood Christian Ministry?
HCM is seeking candidates for the position of Community Engagement Manager. The primary responsibility of this position will be the development and management of external relationships such as with donors, businesses, other agencies, foundations, and the community at large:
- Networking and building relationships with various community stakeholders (businesses, donors, agencies, community groups, etc.)
- Assist with all fundraising events (securing sponsors, maintaining registrations, drafting publicity materials).
- Effectively and efficient management of HCM’s donation systems, ensuring prompt and effective donor recognition.
- Manage HCM’s social media presence, maintaining current channels and expanding to new platforms.
- Working with the executive director and board to prospect and connect with new potential relationships.
- Coordinate meetings between the board of directors, executive director, and potential donors/business leaders.
- Assist with all special campaigns (capital campaign, endowment campaign, etc.)
- Assisting with grant writing needs and reports as necessary.
The key purpose of this position is to ensure the high functioning of HCM’s community relationships and communications endeavors, as well as to ensure that our message is compelling. This role will require the ability to work with confidential information, to deal discreetly and professionally with key stakeholders, and to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, guests, donors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Preferably in the field of communications, public relations, human services, or the equivalent.
- High level of organization
- Familiarity with standard software applications (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.)
- Familiarity with CRM’s such as Salesforce is a plus
- Effective communicator both verbally and in writing. The ability to craft compelling stories and communications is a must.
- Comfort with basic design is a plus (Canva, Adobe, etc.) but not required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, take initiative, and work independently and in team settings.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary is commensurate with experience and education, starting at $31,500 up to $39,500
- Eligible for HCM’s 401K after 6 months of employment, with HCM contributing 3% with no need for a match.
