The Global Director of Product Compliance is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for ensuring Hayward’s global product portfolio meets all applicable safety, performance, environmental, and regulatory requirements. This role leads the enterprise-wide compliance function, managing a global team and partnering closely with R&D, Quality, Operations, Legal, and Product Management to enable safe, compliant, and market-ready products. The position serves as Hayward’s primary liaison with regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and industry organizations and is based on-site in Clemmons, NC (5 days/week).
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute Hayward’s global product compliance strategy and governance.
- Ensure compliance with global safety, EMC, environmental, energy, and pool/spa industry standards throughout the product lifecycle.
- Oversee global certifications (e.g., UL, ETL, CSA, CE, RoHS, REACH, FCC, DOE, CEC).
- Lead regulatory risk assessments and advise executives on compliance readiness and regulatory change.
- Partner cross-functionally to embed compliance into product design, sourcing, manufacturing, and market access.
- Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing global compliance team.
- Drive process standardization, digital tools, and continuous improvement across regions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field (advanced degree preferred).
- 10–15 years of product compliance or regulatory engineering experience, with global scope.
- Strong knowledge of North American, European, and APAC regulatory frameworks and standards.
- Proven ability to lead global teams, influence stakeholders, and manage complex, multi-region initiatives.
