Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding the right bait, tackle, and outdoor products to meet their needs
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for transactions, cash handling, and receipts
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase new or popular items, encouraging customer engagement and sales
- Maintain well-stocked shelves through merchandising, stocking, and inventory management
- Provide expert advice on fishing techniques, bait selection, and outdoor gear to enhance customer satisfaction
- Handle customer inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills
- Assist with upselling by recommending complementary products and promotions to maximize sales opportunities
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially within grocery store or outdoor retail environments
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills to engage customers confidently and provide excellent service
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos enhances your ability to succeed in this role
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or outdoor sporting goods is beneficial but not required
