Title: Summer Program Supervisor—PART TIME ( 26 hours a week)
Reports To: Program Director
This person will be required to work well with middle school aged students in the SPARK program located at Haysville Middle School. We have a position open for our summer program. We focus on enrichment activities while enhancing academics during the summer for kids. We need creative, flexible individuals to join our team.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Valid state Driver's License
- Experience working with youth preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
Skills:
- Ability to plan, implement, and lead activities for middle school youth in the summer program.
- Ability to motivate youth to engage and participate in activities.
- Ability to promote positive behavior and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment and demonstrate flexibility.
- Ability to educate youth through games and activities.
Environment & Working Conditions:
- Specific Program Area:
- Working with students in the summer program to actively engage and participate in scheduled activities. Activities are both indoors and outdoors, including field trips and other offsite activities. .
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Promote and stimulate program participation.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
- Quickly administer discipline when needed, in a fair manner in accordance to SPARK rules.
- Monitor and evaluate programs and activities to ensure safety of members, quality of programs and appearance of SPARK at all times.
- May need to participate in special programs and events.
- Generate ideas for program activities and take initiative to develop new activities.
