What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Administrator position at Haystack?
We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!
The Role
• Configure, set up, and maintain secure Information Systems (IS) and networks, including air-gapped environments.
• Ensure and maintain the security configuration of multiple Information Systems, adhering strictly to established security technical implementation guides and customer directives.
• Manage daily break/fix scenarios, system updates, backups, monitoring, and user administration.
• Handle patch management and anti-virus definition updates.
• Perform hardware troubleshooting for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) PCs, printers, network devices, and encryption hardware.
• Monitor customer requests and tasks to ensure timely and prioritized requirements fulfillment.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years of experience, or an Associate degree and 6-8 years, or a High School diploma and 8 years of experience.
• Current DoD 8140/8570 compliant IA certification for IAT II (e.g., Security ce or higher).
• Hold an active Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret and Special Access Programs (SAP).
• Hands-on experience with Linux Server and workstation environments.
• Experience in the design, implementation, and sustainment of Virtualized Machine (VM) architecture.
• Demonstrated understanding of computer network concepts, including network hardware, cable management, and IP address management.
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
