Haystack is partnered with MV Transportation to find an experienced Information Technology Manager to support mission-critical transit operations and corporate infrastructure. This role is ideal for a hands-on technologist who thrives in fast-paced environments and has deep expertise with Trapeze transit software.
🔧 Overview
As the IT Manager, you'll oversee local technology operations, lead complex IT projects, support transit-specific systems, and ensure reliability across servers, networks, communications, and onboard equipment.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for Trapeze software, desktop, server, and network operations
- Support analog/digital/VOIP telephony (T-1, fax, DSL)
- Support transit technologies such as Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) and in-vehicle tablets
- Manage local servers: domain controller, file, application, and MS SQL Server
- Collaborate with client agencies and internal IT on updates, reporting, and operational needs
- Lead complex IT projects, supervise IT staff, and manage external vendors
- Build strategic IT plans balancing cost, risk, and opportunity
- Maintain documentation across IT operations & software initiatives
- Control and minimize IT operational costs
🎯 Required Skills & Experience
- Expert-level proficiency with Trapeze transit software (MUST)
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, MS SQL Server, and networking
- Understanding of cloud computing, virtualization, ADCs, and other enterprise frameworks
- Hardware knowledge: computers, servers, networks, printers, peripherals
- Experience with Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2012 & 2016, Microsoft Office

- Familiarity with Cisco switches and routers
