Fund Controller

Petaluma, CA (On-Site with some remote flexibility)

A growing real estate investment firm in Sonoma County is adding a Fund Controller to take ownership of fund-level accounting and reporting across a multi-entity portfolio.

This role is less about maintaining the status quo—and more about bringing structure, consistency, and long-term scalability to an already successful platform.

About the Role

You’ll be stepping into a position with strong fundamentals already in place, with the opportunity to tighten reporting, refine processes, and create a more streamlined financial environment across the organization.

The role requires someone comfortable operating both in the details and at a higher strategic level , with direct exposure to leadership and visibility across the business.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Leading fund-level accounting and financial reporting across multiple real estate investments
• Managing and reviewing consolidations and fund rollups across entities
• Overseeing capital activity , including investor contributions, distributions, and allocations
• Producing and enhancing investor reporting
• Ensuring consistency and accuracy across all financial data
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting workflows and internal processes
• Coordinating audits and working alongside external tax partners
• Overseeing property-level accounting functions (internal and/or third-party)
• Managing and optimizing Yardi and related systems
• Supporting and mentoring accounting staff, as needed

What You Bring

• Demonstrated experience in real estate fund accounting
• Strong background in fund rollups and multi-entity consolidations
• Proficiency with Yardi
• Solid understanding of partnership structures and investor allocations
• Ability to assess current processes and implement improvements
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across teams and leadership
