Job Summary
The Patient Access Team Lead is responsible for providing feedback on daily registration processes, communication department processes and staffing issues to the Patient Access Supervisor or Patient Access Manager. Provides assistance to staff level employees as necessary to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures. Assists leadership with staffing, reports, and QA process.
Responsibilities:

- Promote and demonstrate excellent customer service.
- Assist in educating registration staff of any changes in registration procedures.
- Assist Supervisors in overseeing daily registration activities to ensure department standards are met.
- Perform all functions necessary to accomplish the admission/registration of patients including insurance verification, financial assessments, and collections.
- Maintain cross training in all hospital admissions areas and covers any area as needed during their shift.
- In the absence of Supervisor, will serve as a point of primary contact for patient complaints/customer issues; and will work with Management as needed for resolution.
- Works assigned reports to identify opportunities for improvement to ensure a seamless patient experience and maximum reimbursement for service.
- Monitors new hire trainees by auditing registration for accuracy and reports findings to Supervisor.
- Demonstrates success in POS Collections and quality assurance, will maintain a 99% or higher in the registration quality software.
- Takes part in the On-Call Rotation.
- Covers extra hours when necessary.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be proficient with computers
Preferred:
- Two years of experience in healthcare setting
- High school graduate or equivalence
- Previous clerical experience
Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.
