About the Opportunity
A well-established and highly respected civil site development contractor is seeking a Project Manager to support ongoing projects throughout the Metro Atlanta area. The organization specializes in complex grading, utilities, and heavy civil work and has built a strong reputation for delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
This role is ideal for a hands-on construction professional who wants to manage significant projects while remaining primarily local, with limited travel. There is a clear growth path into Senior Project Management for high performers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects from pre-construction through final completion
- Oversee project scheduling, staffing, resource allocation, and cost forecasting
- Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget while meeting safety, quality, and performance standards
- Serve as the main point of contact between owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Collaborate closely with superintendents, foremen, and field teams to coordinate daily operations
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and cost reports
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve field issues
- Provide accurate project updates and reporting to senior leadership
- Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of project management experience in civil site development, grading, utilities, or heavy civil construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Solid understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and field operations
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction/project management software preferred
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Metro Atlanta area
- Limited travel required (primarily local job site visits)
