With large-scale ground-up projects across both private and public sectors, and project values exceeding $1BN.
They have built a reputation for constructing some of the most complex developments across the metro area and can give perspective across the full life cycle from Development, Construction and Management.
Your new role
They are looking for a Lead Electrical Estimator to play a pivotal role within their pre-construction department specializing across all electrical scope. You will be responsible for the following duties on a day-to-day basis, as follows:
- Read construction plans /blueprints and breakdown the project scope
- Prepare quantity take-offs of electrical scope including both low and high voltage systems
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates that include materials, labor and any equipment needed
- Acquire vendor pricing on specialty materials, equipment and systems requiring lead-times
- Analyze subcontractor proposals, conduct scope reviews, and ensure competitive coverage.
- Participate and or coordinate in project kick-off and turn-over meetings
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients, building owners, contractors, consultants, vendors and partners
- Participate in pre-construction planning, value engineering, and risk analysis.
- Participate in site walk through’s weekly
- Working closely with the Project Delivery team
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a combination of education, training and experience in cost estimating and electrical construction (a degree in Engineering, Construction or a related field is desirable), with ideally a minimum of 7 years working for a specialty electrical subcontractor or general contractor with direct experience estimating electrical scope for varied construction projects. Knowledge of electrical power, lighting and low-voltage electrical systems is a must.
