Our client has serviced the tri-state area in sewer, water mains, roadwork and site work for over 40 years. Works with New York State and City agencies such as DOT, DEP, DDC, DPR, EDC, and SCA among others.
Your new role
They are currently seeking a qualified Heavy Civil Utility Superintendent to join the team for an exciting and highly visible project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the field operations and on-site crews, as well as achieving budget production, planning/executing work safely and installation of all work to a high-quality standard. To be successful, this candidate should feel comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills and appropriately prioritize those tasks' completion.
What you'll need to succeed
- Thorough understanding and familiarity with utility work, waste/storm water, sewer & watermain work.
- Familiar with standard Support of Excavation (SOE) methods for different circumstances, along with handling of dewatering means/methods.
- Scheduling private utilities resources, familiarity experience when working around private utilities (eg: Con Ed, CET items, etc.) a plus
- Manhole inspections & exploratory test pitting knowledge
- Reviewing/Agreeing with inspector on bid item quantities
- Mark-out / Utility Survey Layout work for foreman & crew
- Ordering & receiving materials with shop / procurement dept
- Coordinating labor & equipment needs
- Supervise and direct field foremen and multiple labor crews to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project are met for all self-performing and subcontracted operations. Ability to schedule, plan & coordinate all work.
