Your new company
Hays is partnering with a well-established and growing general contractor in the Howard County, MD area that specializes in government, IDIQ, commercial, and institutional construction projects throughout the region.
Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an Estimator with approximately 3 years of experience to join their pre-construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator looking to develop their career while working on diverse and challenging projects ranging from $5M to $20M.
Project types include Government Construction, IDIQ Contracts, and Commercial projects.
Your new role
- Prepare accurate conceptual and detailed estimates for a variety of projects
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Participate in bid reviews and proposal preparation
- Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
- Support pre-construction efforts throughout the project life cycle
- Work closely with project management and operations teams
What you'll need to succeed
- 3 years of estimating experience within the construction industry
- Experience working for a General Contractor preferred
- Candidates from a strong specialty subcontractor background will also be considered
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office
