We’re partnered with a nationally recognized heavy civil construction contractor delivering some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the country. With a strong presence across the New York City and Tri‑State area, this firm specializes in major public works including bridges, highways, rail and transit systems, airports, tunnels, and water infrastructure.
Your New Role
As an Estimator, reporting directly to the Vice President of Estimating, you will play a critical role in the preparation of competitive bids for large‑scale heavy civil infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for developing detailed estimates across a range of project types including bridges, highways, railways, airports, dams, tunnels, and transit systems.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience
- Proven experience estimating projects valued at $20M
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex contract documents, drawings, and specifications
- Experience preparing unit price and lump‑sum estimates, including production crews, equipment, and material costing
- Proficiency with heavy civil estimating software (HCSS preferred) and advanced Excel skills
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Experience with alternative delivery methods such as Design‑Build and CMAR is strongly preferred
- Ability to work within a team‑oriented estimating group, including joint venture pursuits
