Compensation: $175,000 - $200,000 Total Compensation
An established civil contractor in Central Texas is seeking a Chief Civil Estimator to lead its estimating department and play a key role in the company's continued growth.

About the Role
The Chief Civil Estimator will oversee all estimating activities across a diverse portfolio of civil construction projects. This individual will provide leadership, improve estimating processes, guide bid strategy, and serve as a key member of the management team.
The successful candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, capable of leading a team while remaining actively involved in major pursuits and complex estimates.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the estimating department
- Review and prioritize bidding opportunities
- Prepare and oversee detailed estimates and quantity takeoffs
- Utilize estimating software to develop accurate bids
- Develop bid strategies and pricing approaches
- Mentor and develop estimating staff
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Support business development efforts and market growth initiatives
- Improve estimating systems, procedures, and efficiencies
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure successful project transitions
Qualifications
- Extensive heavy civil estimating experience
- Strong background in earthwork and site development projects
- Proven ability to lead estimating teams and manage workloads
- Strong takeoff, pricing, and risk evaluation skills
- Experience building client and industry relationships
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities
- Knowledge of the Central Texas construction market preferred
