AV Engineer

Location: Hybrid to NY. NY

LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - 5 DAYS ONSITE

We are looking for a Video Conferencing and Live Event Support Specialist who can provide hands-on, in-room technical support for enterprise meeting spaces and hybrid events, while ideally also understanding the network fundamentals that impact AV system performance.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable setting up and troubleshooting AV hardware in a live environment as they are collaborating with network teams to diagnose connectivity and quality issues.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s/applicant’s qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking an AV (Video Conference) Engineer:

Must-Have AV / Video Conferencing Skills:

• Hands-on, in-room support for Zoom Rooms or similar like Webex Rooms or Team Rooms.
• Experience setting up, testing, and troubleshooting cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, switchers, and projectors.
• Familiarity with Crestron or similar control systems and general AV signal flow.
• Experience supporting live or hybrid events (executive meetings, town halls, all-hands, webinars).
• Comfortable coordinating with Facilities, IT, and vendors for event logistics and issue resolution.
• Strong customer service and composure under pressure. Able to communicate clearly with executives and end users.

Network Operations Knowledge (Nice-to-Have / Strong Plus)

• Understanding of network basics: IP addressing, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and routing.
• Awareness of QoS, latency, jitter, and bandwidth management for real-time media.
• Experience with Cisco switches/routers and network monitoring tools.
• Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, or Splunk for incident tracking and diagnostics.
• Ability to work with Network Engineers to troubleshoot AV connectivity and performance issues.

Preferred Certifications / Extras

• AVIXA CTS or CTS-I certification (or manufacturer equivalents: Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Q-SYS).
• Experience maintaining AV documentation, diagrams, and inventories.
• Familiarity with Zoom Admin, Zoom Device Manager, Poly Lens, or other AV monitoring platforms.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and responsiveness during live events.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
