Our Columbia, South Carolina location is seeking an experienced legal assistant to join our Insurance Defense team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain attorney calendars, including court dates, depositions, hearings, and client meetings.
- Track and manage litigation deadlines with precision.
- Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents with courts and agencies.
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel to arrange schedules and logistics.
- Manage case files (electronic and physical), ensuring all documents are organized and accessible.
- Assist with billing and time entry as needed.
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys and paralegals in the practice group.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a legal assistant, preferably in insurance defense or litigation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in calendaring systems, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
