About the Role:
Provide leadership and direction in forging operations of the new SMX800 rotary forging machine. Follow established corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines. Assist in development of new forging procedures and pass schedules. Deliver consistent results to both internal and external customers.
Qualifications (Required & Preferred):
Education: High School or equivalent (R); Associate Degree or equivalent experience (P)
Experience: 3-5 years of forging and/or hot mill rolling (P), Development of reduction and/or pass schedules (P)
Areas of Knowledge: Safety, Health & Environment (R), Labor Contract (R), Manufacturing (P), Management (R), Production Operation (P), Lean Manufacturing (P), 5S (P)
Skills: Written and oral communication (R), Organizational (R), Leadership (R), Computer (R), Interpersonal Relations
Specific Accountabilities for the Role:
- Proactive safety-first attitude
- Ensure compliance to all safety, environmental, AAP & EEO rules, regulations, and laws
- Ensure compliance to plant rules
- Direct daily operations of forge crew
- Follow all SOP’s and QCI’s
- Adhere to the collective bargaining agreement
- Maintain all needed documentation
- Schedule daily work to meet production goals
- Assist supervisors in directing grind/cut operations, filling needed overtime, and maintaining operating supplies
- Develop a master training plan for the SMX800 forging machine.
