Education Requirements Are
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and Lube Specialist journeyman’s card or six (6) years’ experience in industrial/manufacturing lubrication.
- Mathematics - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions.
- Language - read and interpret the following documents: safety policies, follow all operating and maintenance procedures, follow all emergency procedures and various manuals, write routine reports and correspondence, and use communication skills with coworkers.
- Reasoning ability - ability to apply common sense and understanding; ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions; and the ability to interact with coworkers through communications and acceptance of expectations and accountability.
- Aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair
- Ability to follow complex directions in manuals in addition to relaying information in an effective manner – communication skills
- High standard of integrity and professionalism
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
- Solid knowledge and understanding of system operation, building plans and working drawings
- Hold a Lubrication Specialist Journeyman’s card/License/Certification or 6 years of experience as a Lubrication Specialist or equivalent.
- Experience working with equipment such as: servicing equipment, filtering systems, hand tools, overhead cranes and more.
- Knowledge of the use and care of tools, safety practices, blueprint reading as well as mathematics, mechanical drawings, etc.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to seventy-five percent of work time.
- Drains, cleans, performs preventative maintenance, and services, while working from charts and/or verbal instructions, specific lubricants to assigned equipment at proper intervals.
- Inspects, tests, adjusts, or repairs all external lubrication carrying systems (production equipment or related sub systems).
- Maintains all portable servicing equipment, work areas, lubrication containers and storage areas in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
- Removes, replaces or cleans all types of lubrication and filtration devices while working from charts and/or verbal instructions.
- Removes various types of access covers or plates to gain entry to all lubrication and/or filtration points.
- Uses air, electric and varying small hand tools to perform work.
- Operates various material handling equipment (floor controlled cranes, overhead cranes, prime movers, work savers or lift trucks).
- Maintains constant lubrication preventative maintenance programs throughout the plant.
- Assists, directs and trains Lubrication Apprentices.
- Maintains necessary recordkeeping.
