Role Qualifications: (Required & Preferred)
Education: Associate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field. (P)
Areas of Knowledge: Strong interest in Environmental and Sustainability matters (R) Experience with process improvement systems a plus such as lean, six sigma (P) Knowledge of sustainability and financial concepts, supply chain, procurement, sales, operations (R) Proficiency in data base systems, excel, power point, etc. (R)
Skills:
- Project Management: Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with an ability to manage and track multiple projects at one time
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with document tracking systems and project management software.
- Communication: Work closely with the ESG and Sustainability Program Manager, EHS Supervisor, internal partners, and data analysts to ensure the reliability of the data. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focusing on data analysis and interpretation.
Accountabilities for the Role:
- Build strong relationships with internal partners and data analysts across the company globally.
- Support existing processes and establish new rate planning and utilities management processes, such as carbon savings, ROI, and kilowatt usage.
- Assist with sustainability initiatives with a keen eye on continuous process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Manually review and enter utility and waste bill data. Data will include operational energy consumption, hauling expenses, business travel, and other assets to identify carbon-producing processes.
- Review bills for savings, such as errors, duplicates, and consumption reduction opportunities.
- Data entry for raw material purchases such as supplemental gases, hydrogen, propane, chemicals, etc.
- Works directly with utilities, third parties, other key suppliers, and internal partners to collect data, calculate savings, report on goals by identifying and reporting errors, and escalate issues until actions are complete
- Collect and Measure Key Performance Indicators, such as carbon emissions per throughput pounds.
- Create visual representation including but not limited to PowerPoint presentations using graphs, infographics, and other methods.
- Assist with sustainability analysis, such as supplier power consumption trends, life cycle assessments, and carbon footprint analysis.
- Assist with ISO 50001 implementation, gathering and tracking data.
- Assist with additional EHS projects, such as new JSA formats.
- Assist with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 documentation and maintenance, document review, corrective actions, risks and opportunities, etc.
- Willingness to learn and utilize new software systems.
