Hayes Instrument Co. is looking for a knowledgeable, customer-focused Technical Support & Training Specialist to join our team in Maitland, Florida. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working directly with customers, and helping survey and construction professionals get the most from their equipment and software.
You will serve as a trusted technical resource for our customers and sales team, providing support, training, demonstrations, and hands-on equipment assistance.
What You’ll Do
- Answer inbound technical support calls and respond professionally and efficiently
- Troubleshoot equipment, software, connectivity, and workflow issues
- Provide remote technical support and online customer training
- Conduct on-site product and software training for end users
- Configure, test, and prepare surveying and construction layout equipment
- Perform equipment and software demonstrations for prospective and existing customers
- Create and edit helpful product how-to videos and training content
- Support outside sales professionals during customer visits and sales calls
- Make outbound follow-up calls to ensure customer questions and issues have been resolved
- Work closely with the sales and service teams to deliver an excellent customer experience
- Spend occasional full days in the field providing demonstrations, training, or technical assistance
What We’re Looking For
- Solid understanding of land surveying equipment, procedures, workflows, and terminology
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to listen carefully, identify customer needs, and explain solutions clearly
- Confidence presenting technical information to individuals and groups
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales and service professionals
- Professional, patient, and customer-focused approach
- Willingness to travel on a limited basis and work in the field when needed
- Previous experience with major surveying equipment or software brands is a plus
