The ideal candidate will have an architecture degree with 5 years of professional experience developing and designing a variety of commercial and residential projects. We're looking for someone starting on their design career path interested in developing even better communication practices, who takes initiative, who will be part of a team working on multiple projects at a time.
Ideal Qualifications:
- 5 years experience with both commercial and residential projects;
- Ability to relate project information between consultants, internal team members, and contractors from design through construction. Work with the team to maintain project schedules;
- Working knowledge of architectural design documentation, detailing, building materials and codes, construction techniques, as well as building material compatibility and characteristics. Our principal is knowledgeable and willing to guide, teach, help resolve and work together with you on design, drawing development and production;
- Revit and AutoCAD knowledge along with a good understanding of drawing standards and structure;
- A growing understanding of how buildings are constructed and ability to create technical documents that accurately describe the work to be done;
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines developed together in weekly production meetings;
- Model maker, hand-sketcher, strong communication skills and strong computer skills with Photoshop/InDesign.
A day in the life may look like:
- Manage multiple small to medium-sized projects;
- Develop architectural drawings and work up alternative designs for review with our principal team;
- Produce and coordinate complete sets of construction documents;
- Coordinate consultants;
- Coordinate team work flow with principal of firm and review work of team.
