What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Associate position at HAYDON CORPORATION?
This is a 2nd shift position Monday-Thursday 2:30PM- 1:00AM
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for the setup and operation of the facility machines.
• Load coils onto the uncoiler; weld the coil properly and safely.
• Prepare proper labels (i.e., Made in the USA, Haydon/Anvil, material profile) for production and ensure stamps are correct for the products needed.
• Ensure flow of operations to efficiently yield production.
• Cut, weld, and run material through machines.
• Troubleshoot and adjust the facility machines, as needed. If unable to troubleshoot within a reasonable amount of time, report issues to supervisor or maintenance immediately.
• Remove welded and unwelded strut from mill then bundle, strap, and package.
• Perform roll changes.
• Assist with the Cutter and Die Changes.
• Ensure Haydon or Anvil labels are filled out correctly and placed on completed bundles.
Will be required to audit and verify another associate’s completed labels.
• Weld together completed strut pieces to create a reinforced strut.
• Punch holes in strut for different requirements and/or specifications using our secondary press machines.
• Operate cutting equipment to make special order lengths of our regular style strut.
• Maintain cleanliness of area according to 5S principles to provide a safe and effective working space.
• Support and provide input for continuous improvement activities.
• Support with on-the-job training for other production associates.
• Support in all areas as needed and requested by supervisor or another member of the management team.
Commitment to safety and to adhere to all safety rules.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 Years manufacturing experience operating machines.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and ensure accuracy.
• Demonstrates ability to work in team, treat colleagues with respect and has a high level of accountability / punctuality.
• Proven record of strong attendance.
• Willingness to be cross-trained and rotate through all business functions as required by business needs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be able to use measuring devices (micrometer, caliper, measuring tape, etc.)
• Ability to learn how to troubleshoot basic machine issues so that the associate can eventually independently troubleshoot the machines
• Experience with SAP preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
