Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated cook to provide good home cooked food and support for our elderly residents in a warm and welcoming 16-bed facility.
Duties
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, incorporating menu planning skills to ensure variety and balance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment in accordance with health standards and facility policies.
- Assist with food service duties such as serving meals, food handling, and ensuring adherence to food safety protocols.
- Foster a positive, respectful atmosphere.
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Experience working in restaurant environments is advantageous.
- Strong skills in food handling, meal preparation, knife skills, and catering are preferred.
- Familiarity with the food industry or culinary experience that demonstrates proficiency in food service operations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact empathetically with elderly residents and team members.
- Ability to multitask efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
