Overview:
Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking a Cash Accountant to oversee the company's daily cash management and treasury accounting activities. This role is responsible for monitoring cash positions, performing bank reconciliations, supporting cash forecasting, recording cash transactions, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of cash-related financial information. The Cash Accountant partners closely with Accounting, Shared Services, Purchasing, Sales, and banking partners to optimize cash flow, maintain strong internal controls, and support the organization's financial reporting and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily cash balances across all bank accounts and prepare daily cash position reports.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations, researching and resolving outstanding reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Record and reconcile all cash-related journal entries, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
- Process and monitor electronic payments, wire transfers, ACH transactions, and positive pay activities while maintaining appropriate controls and approvals.
- Prepare short-term cash forecasts and assist with long-term cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable to ensure timely cash application and resolution of unapplied cash items.
- Partner with Accounts Payable to coordinate vendor payment schedules and optimize cash management.
- Maintain banking records, authorized signer documentation, and treasury-related files.
- Assist in establishing, documenting, and maintaining internal controls over cash receipts, disbursements, and banking activities.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities by preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules related to cash accounts.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Monitor bank fees and identify opportunities to improve banking services and reduce transaction costs.
- Support treasury and finance initiatives, including bank account management, cash management projects, ERP enhancements, and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to automate cash management processes and improve efficiency through technology and standardized procedures.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, banking requirements, and applicable financial regulations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3β5 years of accounting experience with emphasis in cash accounting, treasury accounting, or general ledger accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (U.S. GAAP).
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and cash management activities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Glovia) and online banking platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment: This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment. When in the manufacturing facility, all employees are required to wear personal protective equipment including hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA-compliant safety boots/shoes.
