Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Service & Installation Technician to join our growing team in San Jose, CA.
This is a full-time, on-site position working on residential and light commercial HVAC systems. You'll diagnose problems, perform repairs, install new equipment, complete preventive maintenance, and help customers improve the comfort and efficiency of their homes and businesses.
You will work with modern equipment while collaborating with electricians and other skilled professionals on integrated HVAC and electrical projects.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment
- Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, and ventilation systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and system inspections
- Verify proper airflow, refrigerant charge, and overall system performance
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC components
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers and explain recommended solutions
- Document completed work using company software
- Follow all company safety procedures and California building codes
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle
- Participate in occasional emergency or after-hours service when scheduled
Qualifications
- Previous HVAC service or installation experience
- EPA Certification (required or ability to obtain immediately)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of refrigeration, airflow, electrical controls, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and installation manuals
- Understanding of condensate, gas piping, and basic plumbing related to HVAC
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent field experience preferred
