POSITION SUMMARY:
The Rental Sales Representative develops and generates rental business for San Diego County and determined branch locations and has daily contact with customers and prospects to secure rental and equipment sales.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Make sales calls either in person or by phone on all construction sites, industrial sites and offices in territory. Enter all calls into CRM.
- Maintain current customer base as well as continually developing new customers.
- Assist customers with all needs and maintain excellent customer relations.
- Assist customers with equipment selection for specific jobs.
- Negotiate equipment sale and rental rates with customers.
- Complete bid proposals for rentals.
- Assist with office duties as needed.
- Assist Rental Manager with projects as needed.
- Occasional deliveries of small equipment.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS DESIRED:
- Must have 1-3 years rental equipment/construction industry experience.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- People oriented with 1-3 years of customer service and /or sales experience.
- Must be a self-starter, personable and attentive to customer’s needs.
- High energy level and motivation to succeed.
- Must have a valid CA Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain.
- Handling: Works with hands.
- Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts, small tools, batteries, and tampers. Lifts up to 60 lbs.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
- Climbing: In and out of equipment.
- Vision: Reads computer screens, rental documents, invoices and bills.
- Talking: Communications via telecommunications and in person.
- Sitting: Sits in equipment and in vehicles.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment outside with variations of temperature and weather.
Exposure: Foul odors, fumes and harsh substances.
