Job Title:              Construction Technology Solutions Coordinator (Digital Solutions Specialist)

Reports to:          Corporate Support Services Manager

FLSA Status:      Non-Exempt

Division:               HMC

Department:       Product Support  

Locations:           HMC

POSITION SUMMARY:  Works closely with Product Support, Rental, Sales, and Service teams to support initiatives related to construction technology products and digital solutions, including connectivity, equipment management, and other applications.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Supports construction technology products, including Product Link, VisionLink, Cat App, Cat Inspect, machine control and guidance, and other technology applications and solutions for customer and equipment management.
2. Installs and troubleshoots Product Link devices on construction equipment and engines/generators.
3. Works in relevant software applications to add or update customer and equipment data.
4. Performs equipment inspections utilizing Cat Inspect application and communicates relevant equipment information to Inspection Specialist or appropriate representative (PSSR/ISR).
5. Grants access and maintains user accounts within various applications/user interfaces.
6. May interact with customers and provide information on various digital solutions.
7. Provides guidance to and supports Service personnel for hardware installation and configuration.
8. Instructs Hawthorne employees on relevant digital applications, including Cat Inspect, PCC, VIMS, VisionLink, etc.
9. Builds collaborative relationships with Service, Sales, Marketing, IT, Parts, and Product Support personnel.
10. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
11. Performs and supports various other duties and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Two to five years of experience in construction / heavy equipment industry.
2. Two to five years of technology experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Product knowledge in Caterpillar and associated product lines preferred.
4. DBS and/or AS400 experience preferred.
5. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
6. Must have a valid California Class C Driver’s License with a clean record.
7. Ability to communicate professionally and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
8. Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
9. Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word.
10. Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Walking and moving about on foot often up and down stairs.
2. Handling: Works with hands.
3. Lifting: May lift up to 25 lbs.
4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
7. Vision: Reads computer screens and paperwork.
8. Talking: Communicates via telecommunications and in person.
9. Sitting: Sits at desk.  Sits for long periods of time.
10. Climbing: Climbs on and off earthmoving machines, engines, generators.

ENVIRONMENTAL:          

1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
2. Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment.
