LOAN PROCESSNIG SUPERVISOR
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supervising and training loan processing and support staff. Knowledge of loan documentation and/or processing for all types of loans including residential, commercial and consumer is essential in this role. Aspects of the job include ensuring proper documentation and coding in loan files prior to execution. Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to prioritize work are critical aspects of this job. Work is performed within the framework of standard operating policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Supervise loan processing and support staff.
Review all loan documentation prior to signing process to ensure accurate loan documents are produced.
Assign and manage pipeline of loan requests.
Train and coach personnel; provide ongoing training programs for department and job specific areas.
Be a subject matter expert on loan documentation for loan departments to assist with questions or issues.
Ensure proper documentation and coding in loan files prior to execution. Documentation includes regulatory and procedural checks, including HMDA and CRA.
Prepare, manage and monitor reports for management.
Serve as a backup or assist others to meet deadlines in the department, as needed.
Comply with all banking regulations, policies and procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences, and workshops.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises assigned employees and performs administrative duties associated with staff management (e.g., trains employees, delegates work and ensures the completion of same, prepares and publishes work schedule, reviews and approves timesheets, coaches and counsels employees, prepares performance evaluations and conducts evaluation meetings, conducts staff meetings, makes salary and promotional recommendations, participates in recruitment, interview, and hiring process, administers progressive discipline, takes action regarding departmental activities and staff, approves/disapproves request for leave time, notifies employees of mandatory training and bank meetings). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Possess a two-year Associates Degree from an accredited university or college.
Possess a minimum of four years of loan documentation or processing experience in a lending department or comparable position. Prior supervision experience preferred.
Possess or obtain supervisory training within one year of appointment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Operate standard office equipment (e.g., personal computer/printer, telephone, fax machine, copier, calculator, etc.).
