What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Manager position at Hawkins HR Consulting, LLC?
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Human Resources Manager to manage the HR Department for two non-union facilities which include one 24/7 medium-sized location (home base) and another small location 2 hours away (visited 1 time per quarter). The HR Manager will partner closely with site leadership to drive key HR initiatives, ensure compliance, and support a positive, high-performance workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all HR functions with three direct reports across two manufacturing sites, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on HR strategies, workforce planning, and organizational development
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture
- Oversee performance management processes, coaching managers on best practices
- Support training and development programs to enhance workforce capabilities
- Handle employee relations matters, conducting investigations and resolving issues effectively
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, and reporting systems
- Partner with leadership on compensation, benefits, and retention strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required, with a preference for HR, Business or related degree
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred
- 5 years of experience at an HR Manager level, with a strong preference for experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel as needed - approximately 6 times per year with rare overnight stays.
Compensation Package/Benefits:
- $140,000 – $150,000
