JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform a variety of tasks on construction projects, typically in a utility role, by transitioning between different responsibilities as needed. This role requires a worker with diverse experience and the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Remove, pour, puddle, and vibrate concrete.
• Build, set, and strip forms.
• Clean and stack job-site materials.
• Jack hammering.
• Assist in asphalt preparation and paving, including raking, shoveling, and compacting.
• Assist craftsmen as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Read a tape measure
Basic knowledge of hand tools.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Prior work in construction, landscaping, or warehouse.
• Basic knowledge of operating power tools.
Basic knowledge of safety practices and protocols is often preferred. This includes experience wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Stand for long periods of time
• Have full use of arms and hands and the ability to reach for, handle and manipulate objects
• Frequently lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
• Carry tools and equipment
• Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl for long periods of time
Be able to see (naturally or with correction)

The environment is exclusively outdoors; thus, the job often involves all weather extremes. Work requires alert individuals with good balance, physical strength and on-the-job training.
