Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities equipment, HVAC systems, electrical panels, plumbing systems, and building interiors to ensure optimal operation.
- Repair and troubleshoot electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools; perform electrical work safely following established protocols.
- Perform HVAC system repairs, including filter replacements, system calibrations, and troubleshooting to maintain climate control standards.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for carpentry tasks such as maintenance painting, drywall repairs, or building interior modifications.
- Maintain facilities equipment by performing repairs or replacements on plumbing fixtures, electrical wiring, mechanical components, and other building systems.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately; document work performed in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Supervise or assist with maintenance painting projects or other facility upgrades while ensuring safety compliance.
- Support maintenance operations with customer service-oriented communication to internal teams or external vendors when needed.
Qualifications
- Handyman experience or a sort of jack of all trades. Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related fields of residential/commercial building upkeep.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience; familiar with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical equipment repair.
- Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as HVAC system troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques including drywall repair and painting; experience with maintenance painting is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a maintenance setting is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English; capable of providing clear instructions and documentation.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards at all times.
