What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mitigation/Restoration Manager (Local Only) position at Hawaiian Isles Restoration, LLC?
Summary:
This position will have expertise in restoration, remediation, and emergency repair services, including water and fire damage, mold remediation, storm recovery, etc. The Mitigation/Restoration Manager will be quick to act, assess the damage that’s been done and work with the customer to help stabilize and remediate the damage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strengthen relationships with existing and potential customers through business development activities.
- Attend industry events or customer entertainment activities within company guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, consultants, and insurance company representatives.
- Able to hire and train Lead Technicians and Service Technicians based on UIR Core Values.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate employees.
- Ensure safety policy compliance on job sites.
- Conduct probationary reviews and annual reviews for technicians.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with staff and customers.
- Correspond with adjusters and customers to address questions or concerns.
- Secure work authorizations and deposits according to office policies.
- Coordinate with hygienists and abatement subcontractors based on project requirements.
- Attend after-hours emergency jobs to ensure completion.
- Ensure safety measures are in place and followed on job sites.
- Monitor job progress and make necessary adjustments.
- Keep accurate records of timecards, checkout forms, vehicle records and any job paperwork
- Coordinate all work duties and schedules with personnel and subcontractors Ensure technicians are properly equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Monitors and ensures replenishment of supplies and equipment inventory.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings to discuss praises, concerns, and other updates.
- Provide updates to existing policies and procedures to technicians.
- Ensure cleanliness of vehicles, maintenance and replenish first aid kits.
- Assess damage at job sites and provide data.
- Provide technical explanations and feedback to clients, adjusters, and consultants.
- Document necessary information for estimate creation such as moisture readings, pictures, and field sketches.
- Daily response to possibly multiple customers who have water, mold, fire, and wind damaged properties both during and after business hours
- Drive company vehicle to job sites
- Assess damage and work with Mitigation Lead to develop action plan based on each customer’s unique situation
- Deploy and operate appropriate equipment
- Utilize industry specific equipment to dry the structure successfully to industry standards
- Perform demolition of affected areas and removal of appliances
- Work with customers who wish to store their personal items in our warehouses to include inventory of items, assembly of storage containers, and relocation of property into storage containers.
- Document all progress in job management software
- Periodically communicate job updates to customers
- Self-direct your industry learning and training
- Follow IICRC standards for restorative processes for water mitigation, mold remediation and fire restoration
- Safely remove affected and/or contaminated materials that may be wet, burnt or bio-hazardous
- Skilled at using common industry software programs and proficient in using the MS Office Suite and Google
- Work efficiently to maintain good time management and minimize time needed to respond to job sites
- Restock supplies as needed, keep company vehicle clean and ready for emergency calls
- Maintain professional demeanor when communicating with clients either on job site, over the phone, text or email. Respond to communication in a timely manner
- Be available for routine on call rotational emergency services and after-work hours
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must pass background check
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Valid IICRC certification, Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification, AMRT, ASD – Applied Structural Drying Technician
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of working knowledge and experience in the field of repair, maintenance or construction field.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner
- Possesses excellent customer service skills
- Experience with using mobile software to enter data
- Able to read and follow product label usage instructions
- Reports to work on time in a clean, complete uniform and ready to work
- Must be able to prioritize tasks, activities and meet deadlines
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, and move large equipment in and out of trucks and homes/buildings
- Able to stand and work for prolonged periods thru-out the day
- Able to bend at the knees and waist in a safe manner
- Ability to show good communication skills, written and spoken
- Ability to show proficient use of technology, computers, software, systems, and mobile devices.
- Ability to work in teams or independently to get jobs completed successfully

Starting at: $70,000/year (Depends on Experience)
