Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual with excellent customer service skills and detailed oriented individual to clean and maintain a commercial location. While previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred, it is not mandatory. All applicants must successfully pass background check and certain roles require a valid Hawaii driver’s license and have a dependable vehicle. This involves tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; dusting furniture and fixtures; clean and sanitizing ten restrooms; disposing of trash; and restocking supplies such as hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels.
Notify the appropriate HBM employee regarding necessary supplies and equipment.
Ability to drive a golf cart to reach designated areas within the work location.
Perform deep cleaning tasks such as carpet and window cleaning when required.
Utilize a leaf blower and strictly adhere to safety procedures.
Report any safety issues or building problems, such as burnt light bulbs.
Multi-task and work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team.
Uphold professionalism and customer service standards at all times while communicating effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Strong public relations and communication skills.
Previous experience in custodial / janitorial work, housekeeping, maintenance or related fields is preferred.
Applicants should be able to perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, and frequently lift, push, pull, or carry a minimum of 25 lbs (up to 50 lbs).
Candidates must also be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, and stand throughout their shifts.
