Casual Part-Time Campus Security Officer

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our team as Casual Campus Special Duty Events Coordinator. In this role, you will assist in various campus events, primarily focusing on parking management and ensuring the safety of attendees. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the well-being and security of our campus community on a casual, part-time basis.

About the Job

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing parking arrangements during campus events, ensuring orderly parking and efficient use of available spaces.
• Weekend Shift available
• Direct event attendees to appropriate parking areas and provide guidance on parking regulations.
• Monitor parking areas and report any violations or suspicious activities to the campus security team.
• Act as a safety observer during events, maintaining a visible presence and proactively addressing any potential safety concerns.
• Provide general assistance and information to event attendees, including directions, event schedules, and campus facilities.
• Collaborate with the campus security team to respond to emergencies or incidents that may occur during events.
• Assist in crowd control measures and ensure compliance with event policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR & First Aid Trained is preferred
• Previous experience in security, event management, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm under pressure.
• Familiarity with campus layout and parking regulations is an asset.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Employment Term: 12 Months
Work Schedule: Varies based on operational needs. The Security Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shifts may include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation: Starting at $19.00 per hour. A shift differential applies to overnight shifts only.
