Job Summary :
The Research Scientist is a technical expert in cell culture and electrophysiology and will conduct experimentation that supports preclinical, collaborative, drug discovery projects. In addition, the Research Scientist will contribute to preparation of manuscripts and reports, supervising undergraduate researchers, and providing oral presentations to research stakeholders.
This is a part-time position, for up to 25 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications :
- Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field
- Proven experience in project execution and management of cell biology experimental projects
- Three years' experience in cell culture and electrophysiology (including patch-clamp instrumentation)
- Three years' experience in contributing to the maintenance and operation of cell culture instrumentation and supporting laboratories.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software (e.g., GraphPad)

Key Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions :
1.Plan and conduct preclinical cell culture experiments to support drug development (50%)
2.Maintain cell culture and electrophysiology labs (15%)
3.Train and supervise students in assisting in preclinical cell culture experiments (15%)
4.Document work and present oral and written reports on progress (15%)
5. Performs other related duties as assigned (5%)
