What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Director position at HAWAII ISLAND HUMANE SOCIETY?
The Director of Development plays a vital role in fulfilling Hawaii Island Humane Society’s mission by leading the strategy and execution of a comprehensive strategy for fundraising and Development. Building and leading HIHS’s efforts to acquire donors and diversify revenue, the Director will also drive donor loyalty, belonging, and retention efforts while promoting a Culture of Philanthropy at HIHS. Reporting to the CEO, the Director will partner with the CEO and Board of Directors on fundraising, will manage a portfolio of 80-100 households, oversee the Development Department and staff. The Director will serve on and partner with the Executive Leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Passion for animals and their welfare
- 5-7 years of fundraising experience in nonprofit organizations, preference for those with Animal Welfare experience
- 2-3 years of experience managing individuals and/or a team
- High School graduate or GED equivalent, required.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Experience with major gifts and grants
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a team
- Familiarity with CRMs such as Network for Good, Raiser’s Edge, and Salesforce.
- CFRE and CAWA certifications are preferred
- Ability to travel around Hawaii Island and as needed attend events on evenings and/or weekends.
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
