What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Instructor position at Hawaii Fluid Art?
We are looking for a creative, energetic, and people-oriented Art Instructor / Studio Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and helping them create unique artwork in a fun, relaxed environment.
As an instructor, you will guide guests through fluid art and resin art experiences, helping beginners create beautiful pieces such as canvases, charcuterie boards, coasters, and glassware. No professional art experience is required—we provide training. The most important qualities are enthusiasm, patience, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist fluid art and resin art classes for individuals and groups
- Guide guests step-by-step through the creative process
- Set up class materials including paint, resin, canvases, and tools
- Assist with private parties, corporate events, birthdays, and group experiences
- Help finish artwork (resin coating, sealing pieces, etc.)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe studio environment
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure guests have a fun experience
- Assist with preparing and packaging finished artwork for pickup
- Support basic studio operations such as inventory prep and restocking supplies
Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing personality and comfortable speaking to groups
- Enjoys working with people and creating fun experiences
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced creative environment
- Comfortable working with hands-on materials such as paint and resin
- Weekend availability is a must
- Customer service or teaching experience is a plus (but not required)
