Production Manager
Location: Maui Gold Pineapple Farm
Reports To: COO
Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for developing, producing, and scaling value-added pineapple products—including fresh-cut, dried fruit, juice, frozen, confections, and packaged retail items. This role ensures that new and existing pineapple products meet quality, safety, and profitability goals while expanding the brand’s presence in wholesale, retail, and tourism markets. The manager will oversee innovation, production, compliance, and business development with a strong focus on sustainability and brand integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
· Plan and oversee daily and weekly pineapple processing schedules (cut fruit, packaged goods, samples, juice, etc.).
· Ensure accurate forecasting of fruit needed based on tour volume, retail sales, online orders, and wholesale demands.
· Monitor production yield, waste, and shrink—implement strategies to reduce loss and increase profitability.
· Develop and update SOPs for sanitation, slicing, packaging, labeling, and safe handling.
Inventory & Supply Coordination
· Work closely with our team to ensure consistent supply of pineapple in required sizes and quality.
· Manage inventory of raw fruit and finished products; track surplus and execute plans for overproduction (e.g., freeze, dehydrate, sample, wholesale offers).
Quality Assurance and Compliance
· Maintain compliance with federal, state, and county-level food safety and levelling requirement.
· Oversee product testing for taste, shelf-life, and safety, ensuring consistency across batches.
· Manage audits, certifications, and quality documentation.
Business Development
· Partner with sales and marketing to position pineapple products for retail, wholesale, export, and tourism markets.
· Provide input on branding, packaging, and merchandising to maximize consumer appeal.
· Explore partnerships with restaurants, beverage companies, and co-packers to expand market channels.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
· Train and manage production staff in pineapple processing, packaging, and food safety practices.
· Work closely with agricultural, retail, and distribution teams to ensure smooth operations.
· Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and pride in Maui grown pineapple products.
Qualifications:
· Experience in food production, agriculture, culinary processing, or manufacturing management.
· Knowledge of food safety guidelines.
· Strong leadership and team management abilities.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work in refrigerated environments and handle physical demands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
