We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional patient care within a fast-paced dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical administrative support and patient service, with a solid understanding of dermatology practices and procedures. This role involves assisting dermatologists in various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth patient experience, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Responsibilities
- Assist dermatologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient information.
- Administer medications as directed by the physician and provide basic life support when necessary.
- Educate patients on skin care regimens, treatment options, and post-procedure care.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology, ICD coding, and documentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment, including preparation for procedures.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling inquiries.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dermatology or related fields in private practice preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ICD coding is essential.
- Experience in outpatient settings; clinic experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform basic life support and administer medications safely.
- Strong patient service skills with an emphasis on empathy and communication.
- Previous exposure to various medical specialties such as pediatrics, geriatrics, internal medicine, or medical-surgical is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
