Hawaii Dermatology Centers is home to 14 providers across 4 clinic locations, and we’re looking for a part-time Patient Service Representatives I to join our team. In this role, you’ll support all providers by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and navigating the unique scheduling needs of each provider. We do ask our employees to travel between our four locations as needed (Kahala, Hawaii Kai, and two in Kailua), but the home location for this position will be in Kailua. This is a part-time position of about 19 hours per week, with regular hours of Tuesday from 8:15 AM to 7:45 PM and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts as desired.
What you’ll do:
- Welcome patients to our office and serve as the first point of contact when patients arrive for care
- Check in and check out patients, making sure charts are complete and up to date
- Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, and payments for services or products
- Scan and upload documents into patient charts before the end of each shift
- Activate patient portals for next-day appointments and schedule follow-ups
- Ensure patients complete kiosk and required forms on the iPad
- Scan insurance and ID cards into patient charts with any changes, or every 6 months
- Keep the waiting room and restroom clean and welcoming, disinfecting surfaces and items patients contact throughout the day
- Work with the team to provide and support outstanding patient experiences
Requirements:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have reliable transportation
- Prior insurance eligibility experience is a plus, but not required- we’ll train you!
- Must be a team player and have excellent customer service
